The NYS IAAI Nomination Period for The Board of Directors is Now Open
Our annual election for Board of Directors positions will be held November 7-14, 2026. From now until September 23, 2026, we will accept nominations for these Board positions:
- Sergeant-at-Arms (2-year term, 01/01/2027-12/31/2028)
- Vice President Western Zone (2-year term, 01/01/2027-12/31/2028)
- Vice President Eastern Zone (2-year term, 01/01/2027-12/31/2028)
- Vice President Southeastern Zone (2-year term, 01/01/2027-12/31/2028)
- Director Western Zone (3-year term, 01/01/2027-12/31/2029)
- Director Southern Zone (3-year term, 01/01/2027-12/31/2029)
- Director-at-Large (3-year term, 01/01/2027-12/31/2029)
If a position is listed within a particular “Zone”, the member running for that position must reside or work in that Zone. Please refer to our Zone map here.
To be eligible for a Board position, a NYS IAAI member must be an active member in good standing for three years and have attended at least three Chapter-endorsed events within the last two years. For those seeking re-election, you must be an active member in good standing and have attended six Chapter-endorsed events in the previous two years. Chapter-endorsed events include Chapter seminars, the OFPC Arson Seminar, IAAI ITC, and seminars sponsored by other IAAI Chapters.

After you submit the nomination form, the Nominating Committee will review eligibility. You will receive an email by September 30, 2026, letting you know whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
